Walking in the steps of a King...

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The visionary.

The world changer.

One of history’s most legendary and influential civil rights activists.

Joshua’s all time favorite historical person.

I don’t know about you, but this day of celebration and remembrance hits a little different. The protests and marches that we have been experiencing are very reminiscent of Dr. King’s day. I can only imagine what it must be like for his children to see where the world is today. To see just how much work we still have left to do. I wonder what he would say to them if he had lived long enough to see this.

Even though the work that lies ahead is great, we have some amazing people in line to carry the mantle. We are seeing a new set of greats rise up right in front of our eyes.

It’s because of awesome men like Dr. King that Joshua gets to experience life like he does and know that he can change the world. When I look at Joshua, I see so much hope for the future. I see the potential to be one of the next set of greats.

Joshua won’t just have to dress up like Dr. King to imagine his greatness, he can grow up and change the world too. Joshua can walk in the path laid by Dr. King, the path that many others have followed to change the world.

Keep going. Keep chasing your dreams. Follow the path that has been set before you. You may be walking in the footsteps of giants and, who knows, someone may come behind to walk in yours.

“I have decided to stick to love...Hate is too great a burden to bear.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
